After years of trying to get pregnant naturally, we were referred to Dr. Silber from friends who were successful in getting pregnant via Mini IVF. Even though we are from Wichita, we made the trip to do the procedure and it was well worth it! My husband and I got pregnant with twin girls after the first attempt, and we couldn't be happier with how it all turned out!
Dr. Silber's staff was extremely helpful and professional, and we had the most amazing experience. It wasn't easy and cost us about $10K in total, but we now have two perfect, beautiful little girls. Thank you so much, Dr. Silber!!! I've recommended you to many of our friends and family.
After being told my husband wouldn't be able to have a successful reversal 11 years post vasectomy, we decided to get a second opinion on a vasectomy reversal and through our research came across Dr. Silber. During my husband's initial consultation, Dr. Silber was incredibly confident he would be able to provide us the opportunity to become parents through not only a vasovasectomy but with mini invitro, if needed. The entire process was made very simple through his office. This doctor is a true trailblazer in his profession. Dr. Silber was with us every step of the extensive reversal and we were pregnant naturally within 4 months of the reversal. I gave birth to our beautiful healthy son in 2022. This could not have been possible without Dr. Silber. I am eternally grateful for his expertise and the opportunity to become a mother. The price was worth every penny and we'd have done it sooner had we known about Dr. Silber. HIGHLY recommend. Schedule the consultation.
Our initial zoom meeting with Dr. Silber was great. He was very confident in my 34 year old wife getting pregnant with mini IVF. We received the cost information, let Dusty know we would get our funds together and start process a few months after meeting as we were paying completely out of pocket. Never spoke with Dr. Silber after that point. 2 weeks before egg retrieval we received info again on paying the surgery center, anaesthesiologist, st. Luke's, Dr. Silber, and Dr. Derosa. Payment for Dr. Derosa was very odd. We were instructed to call his nurse directly (not office) and pay over phone, or mail a money order (not a check) made out directly to Dr. Derosa to a random house address, which is his nurses primary residence, and not his practice.(Seems like someone is trying to avoid The IRS). The payment for St. Luke's prior to egg retrieval was for monitoring up to 3 days. We did one ultrasound, and was told by coordinator Dusty we were ready for retrieval, and it got done a few days earlier. We were advised St. Luke's would refund difference since we only did 1 day monitoring, cool. Day of egg retrieval I was kind of surprised that Dr. Silber was not involved at all, just Dr. Derosa. He seemed nice enough when we met, but assumed Dr. Silber would be involved as well. My wife was back in "surgery" for 15-20mins and they retrieved 5 eggs. Out of the 5 eggs we got two embryos. A week later were asked when we are scheduling the 2nd egg retrieval. Like, what? We told y'all we can only afford this one time, and it's our only chance. After we wait 3 months for embryo Transfer. My wife made it clear prior that we would do both embryos, as we cannot afford to do this twice. Before transfer they email waivers and forms to trans 1 embryo. So we had to correct that. Problem was the embryos we had frozen were not the same, 1 day 5 blast, and 1 day 3, and were told they can't be transfered at same time. So they had to make arrangements to take day 3 out, thaw it and see if it would survive to day 5. They knew this would be our only egg retrieval and trans., why wouldn't they initially let day 3 grow to day 5? Before transfer we received more financial cost information for Embryo Transfer. Weird, cause I was under the impression all the cost was given prior when we received the financial information for MINI IVF, which you would think would include cost of transfer, but no. Had to pay another 1,350+. Went back to St Luke's for another ultrasound before transfer, where they wanted another 547 dollars, even though my account showed a credit for almost 900 where we only monitored for one day for retrieval, but that was a st Luke's problem I guess, and we did get figured out. Transfer day finally comes, and we see Dr. Silber for the FIRST TIME since our initial zoom meeting. I feel like his health went down a lot since then. He was very hard of hearing even with hearing aids, he was not walking well, and the nursing staff looked very annoyed having to work with him. At that time he still seemed very optimistic on transfer being a success resulting in pregnancy, he told me 80% likely. During the transfer that I wasn't allowed to to go back and watch, that took a whole 10 minutes. my wife said it was like the nurse was telling him what to do every step, but embryos were transfered.
2 weeks after transfer wife did her first blood work, HCG was 25, Dusty said congrats your pregnant! Two days later HCG was 23, Dusty immediately said it's a chemical pregnancy. Tested again 2 days later and HCG went up, and then up again 2 days after and Dusty said we were released from them and to see our OBGYN further. Needless to say our Mini IVF resulted in a non viable preg, and on ultrasound no embryo could be seen in uterus or tubes. This is a cash cow business. Dr. Silber should probably have retired a long time ago, but he stays practicing to get easy money from patients in need of a fertility expert. If we can ever afford to do IVF again, We would go elsewhere and not let a Doctor's reputation of being "world renowned" affect our choice.
My husband and I started our journey 7 years ago. My husband had a vasectomy reversal, which was too far destroyed to attach properly again. So, with LOTS OF RESEARCH. We found Doctor Silber. From start to ending, the whole process was so smooth, and my coordinator made the whole situation so less stressful. I ended up getting an egg retrieval with Silber. I am 35 years old. I ended up getting 12 retrieved 7 fertilized and 1 made it to day 5, 4 were froze at day 3. Like many people who endure this journey, my first embryo transfer wasn't "sticky" enough. BUT...MY SECOND was. (I've learned this is VERY COMMON)
As of right now, thanks to Doctor silber and his team. especially DENA. I am 20 weeks with not just one baby, but TWO VERY HEALTHY TWIN BOYS!!!!
Picking doctor silber was the best decision I have ever made. I am forever grateful!!

Dr. Silber performed a vasectomy reversal on me in December 2014. My vasectomy was performed about 11 years prior so I was skeptical, he was not. We were fortunate to have a little girl in September 2016 after my wife experienced a miscarriage the summer of 2015, just a few short months after the reversal. We also had a son in July 2019. Dr. Silber and his staff was incredible to work with as well as everyone at St. Luke's Hospital. His work has enabled our family to be complete, adding our two little ones to four much older siblings that absolutely adore their young siblings.
