I had two embryos transferred to SRM location with the closure of ORM Bellevue location. At ORM I had three embryos at very similar rating and all passed the genetic screening, ORM made one embryo transfer and it was successful. As the most difficult part has been done, I didn't expect future FET with SRM would be much of a pain. My doctor is Dr Criniti who has a high rating at Fertility IQ. The first meeting was virtual and she asked about if I'd like to keep a same medication protocol since it worked well for me once or try a new one which is oral pills no injection. I choose to kept the same protocol to avoid unexpected challenges. However, the medication calendar and ordered meds were oral ones not the injection one I chose and they arrived to me the day I should start taking. There was no time to change unless I start another cycle. With the trust in Dr Criniti I followed the protocol anyway but I felt terrible after the medication, severe mood swings and blush, neither of them happened before. On the transfer day, I met the doctor for the first time in person, she gave me a photo of the embryo, it was oval and didn't look rehydrated. Dr Criniti made the transfer and it failed. I had one more embryo left, so I decided to give another try. In meeting with Dr Criniti, we confirmed that this time be sure to follow my old injection protocol. However, when I received the calendar, I was shocked. The dose of injection was twice of the one at ORM, plus oral pills were still listed on the calendar, time to take Doxycycline was weeks before the transfer. I'm not clinically trained but it didn't make any sense with comparison to my succeed FET calendar and a little google. I don't understand why it's so hard to follow my earlier meds protocol which I already shared with Dr Criniti. I called the nurse Amy to talk to Dr Criniti about the calendar, however, she said I had to wait weeks until Dr Criniti have availability and the list pills on the calendar was a mistake, if I insist to ask Dr Criniti explant the calendar will result me missing this cycle. I felt the doctor is only there to talk but agreement and decision of the conversion means nothing and they will not put into reaction. The calendar was generated by very inexperienced nurse with limited medical knowledge. Questions will only be briefly paraphrased by the nurse from the doctor. To talk to the doctor you have to wait like a new patient.
I've worked with 3 different fertility clinics, and unfortunately SRM fell far below our expectations.
We were with this clinic for a little over a year before we sought care elsewhere. In that year I met with my assigned doctor (Dr. Mazur) ONE time. The first few months at this clinic were not so bad, but then we started noticing short staffing issues, lapses in their communication, and a poor quality of care.
I did 4 medicated rounds of IUI with SRM. At every appointment my uterine lining showed as being very thin. I tried multiple times to address this with staff and my nurse - asking them to please check my progesterone levels, offer progesterone treatments, etc. Each time I was essentially told that it "wasn't necessary" and my request for testing was declined. On my final appointment, while in the middle of my ultrasound, one of the techs asked why they "hadn't looked at switching my medication protocol?" Not only did they refuse to check my progesterone levels - but come to find out that the clomid I was on has an occasional side effect that causes thin uterine lining. Not once during 4 months of back to back IUIs did any doctor catch this or offer to switch up my medication(s) after I had repeatedly expressed concern.
Despite feeling defeated we decided to try one more round of IUI. I asked my nurse to please refill my medications, and was informed that our doctor was on vacation and could not authorize the refill on medications until he returned. This was a time sensitive request. After 4 or 5 days went by with no refills I started to panic - I left multiple voicemails and sent portal messages with no resolution. I asked if they could have another provider authorize the refills while my doctor was out of town and was told "no." Finally, after being left in the dark for days, I sent a message requesting a transfer of care to a different clinic. Magicially, within the hour and the day before I was due to start another round of meds, my phone rang. SRM said they could now send over refills to my pharmacy. I told them not to bother, and I never returned. I have since gone to another clinic (Think Fertility in Bellevue - which I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend).
Overall, I feel that we were just bled for our money and we certainly didn't receive the attention or care we deserved. I would encourage anyone looking for a fertility specialist to search elsewhere.
(Also, please note that my experience excludes the front desk staff at SRM. The front desk staff were always warm, welcoming, and were overall wonderful to work with).
Thank you SRM for helping our family become a family. It was a process but with your help, the process was smooth and we felt supported the entire time. Shouts out to Dr. Eric Mazur and Alexa Skinner, RN for the support given to my wife and I. Especially for Alexa constantly helping my wife feel listened to, comforted, and giving her prompt & accurate information when needed. And for just being there at times. My wife really felt the genuine empathy and care you had for her. Thank you. Thank you Dr Nicole Barker and Dr. Paul Lin for your help on the procedural side of things. We always felt safe, comforted, and that we were in good hands. I really don't know if we would have received this type of service & care and top of the line customer service anywhere else. It seems like yesterday, we were making that first call to inquire. Now, we have a healthy baby girl and its all because of Seattle Reproductive Medicine. We can never thank you all enough for your life changing support! If anyone wants the best place to start for your family needs, start with giving SRM a call. It will be the best choice you make this year. Cheers!
I am beyond Thankful for SRM specifically to Dr. Eric Mazur and Alexa Skinner, RN! We started our IVF with them May 2023 and now I have our 4 month old baby girl! I can't thank them enough, without their help I wouldn't be having my baby right now which I didn't imagine that it could be possible with my age and infertility issue.
Dr. Mazur is very straight forward, honest and don't sugar coat you! Our first conversation with him, he asked what our goals are in terms of conceiving, he ordered all the necessary blood tests, ultrasound etc and as soon as all the results came back, he discussed our care of plan. I love that he also asked my opinion which I am happy that our point of view aligns. I told him that I don't want to go through IUI and just want to go straight to IVF due to time and age. I appreciate that he trusts my own body capabilities to conceive using less medication to conceive which we did Natural cycle at first. it didn't work out and we went straight to the medicated cycle. September 2023 was my egg retrieval. I didn't expect that I will be having an embryo. Oct 2023 we got a call that we had 2 healthy embryos. January 2024 we did my embryo transfer. And 3rd week of January we got the great news that we are officially pregnant. Sept 2024 I gave birth to our beautiful and healthy baby girl.
My entire experience with them was so smooth!!! Alexa was my nurse, she is the most compassionate, professional and friendly human being in medical world I have met! Our pharmacy is progyny and didn't encounter any problem with them. All my of my supplies are being delivered on a timely manner. Dr. Paul Lin did my egg retrieval. I have read bad review about him. Not every care provider will be sweet and friendly. In my experience Dr. Paul Lin look serious but you will feel he is concern not only with your fertility journey but the entirety of your health. My egg retrieval with him went really smoothly. The nurse who took care of me that day was Katie and she is the sweetest. She knew I was very nervous, so she always reassures me and attend to my every need. Lastly Dr. Nichole Barker did my Embryo transfer and I felt very safe. She showed us in the monitor every step of the transfer. Even all the nurses and MA in SRM Tacoma and Seattle location are very kind, compassionate and have the best bed side manners. I wish all hospitals and clinic treat all patients with genuine care like SRM. Me and my husband are so grateful for all their help. We still have one embryo left and we will definitely want to do it with them again!
Probably my best medical experience here in the States!!!
Dr Shah is really considerate and gave us excellent advice and options for our condition. Started off with my nurse coordinators Sara and Anna really pulling strings together to get everything ready for my egg freezing in just 2 weeks (on my request, this is not the norm). Thoroughly helpful with questions, concerns, requests. The entire process was super smooth, and fortunately for me i hardly had any crazy symptoms. The day of the surgery, nurse Maria was the sweetest, made me feel so comfortable and calm, she was super gentle with the IV, gave me warm sheets, warm socks, and then finally the surgery was a breeze since I was completely out. Recovery was smooth too, with thorough follow ups from nurses and doctors again.
