We initially had an online appointment with a doctor or nurse practitioner at Southwest Fertility Center, and they were very nice. Based on that experience, we were convinced to go in person for an exam.
However, when my husband and I arrived at the clinic, we signed in on a sign-in sheet, and there were multiple staff members working at the front desk. Immediately after we signed in, the receptionist closed the front desk window without saying a word to us—no greeting, no instructions, nothing.
We sat down and continued waiting, expecting some communication. No one spoke to us or updated us on our appointment status. Another couple arrived after us, yet they were seen before us while we were still ignored. After waiting for over 30 minutes with no explanation, my husband tried asking the receptionist what was going on, but we were completely disregarded. Feeling disrespected and frustrated, we decided to leave.
Then, about an hour after we had already left, they suddenly called me—but at that point, the damage was done.
Now, I am receiving a bill for $41.33 with no clear explanation of what I am being charged for. We only attended one online session, which should have been covered by my insurance. I did not receive full service during the in-person visit, and I demand that these charges be removed from my account.
To make matters worse, I have tried contacting the clinic by phone multiple times, and no one has answered.
I do not recommend going to this clinic—especially if you are Mexican like myself. I strongly believe that discrimination played a role in how we were treated, as I have unfortunately experienced similar situations while living in Arizona. It is unacceptable that this kind of behavior is allowed to continue.
I don’t know where to start from, coming from a mother who lost her child due to an ultra rare genetic disease to almost losing hope in having a healthy baby due to limited genetic testing, we found Dr. Gunnala. During our first consultation with Dr. Gunnala he explained thoroughly all the necessary genetic testing needed to eliminate the embryos at risk, and select the healthy ones. He made the IVF process starting from the Egg retrieval cycles to the embryo transfer super easy and was available to answer all of our questions and concerns throughout the entire journey. Today I am 13 weeks pregnant, thank you Dr. Gunnala and thank you Southwest fertility center for the amazing patient care. Fadi and I greatly appreciate it
I had a horrific experience at Southwest Fertility Clinic. My husband and I were undergoing IVF treatment, which required two egg retrieval processes. Unfortunately, after the second retrieval, I had to visit the emergency room and spent four days there. It was the most terrifying experience of my life. My stomach was severely swollen, and the pain was unbearable.
The situation took an interesting turn during the embryo transfer process. It was discovered that I had fibroids. My husband and I were concerned and repeatedly asked the doctor if it was better to address the fibroids first. However, he assured us it wasn't a problem.
We proceeded with the first transfer, but it was unsuccessful. My husband had reservations about the process, citing poor communication among the nurses, I was working with Greta who didn't work there anymore and I had some other nurse who was just unaware of my process. There were instances where medication dosages were incorrect. I brought this to their attention, and they apologized and corrected the mistake. I had the meds instructions on the prescription different from what they had on portal and email from new nurse.
We decided to proceed with a second transfer, but it was also unsuccessful. I became severely ill, experiencing extreme pain, and had to visit the emergency room for the second time during this IVF process. The doctors were shocked, stating that my fibroids were large and would prevent a successful pregnancy. They didn't know why any IVF doctor will do a transfer giving the size of embryo and location of it. This drained the life out of me and my husband.
My husband and I felt disappointed as we had expressed our concerns about the fibroids from the beginning it was discovered and brought to out attention by Dr. Gunnala. We realized that the clinic was wasting our time and money by proceeding with transfers despite knowing about the fibroids. We where flying from Alaska and they had me diem there why I was taking all those meds with little to no follow up untill the day if the transfer the second circle.
We eventually had an appointment with Dr. Gunnala, who said he can schedule us to perform surgery to remove the fibroids. My husband and I were so disappointed and asked him why he didn't do this sooner! We wasted about 2 years with him.
We decided to seek treatment from Seattle Reproductive Medicine (SRM) instead. They performed the myomectomy, and after 3 months did my embryo transfer! Thank God I was able to get pregnant. I am currently five months pregnant and it was a smooth process.
Our experience with Southwest Fertility Clinic was disastrous. The clinic's priorities seemed to be focused on making money rather than addressing patients' needs. My husband and I are pursuing legal action against the clinic for negligence and deceptive behavior. The stress, emotional turmoil, and financial burden we endured were significant and unnecessary if Dr.Gunnala did his job right . In contrast, SRM provided us with the necessary care and we are grateful for their expertise.
It took 6 years of surgeries, IUI and IVF to finally get our miracle and going to Southwest Fertility made it all possible. Doctor after doctor ignored my concerns about having endometriosis and the first appt with Dr Gunnala made me feel like I was in the right place and someone finally understood and agreed with me. The team was there with us every step of the way and never gave up on us. They always had the best attitude and made us feel at home. I would recommend them to anyone and will be back to try for siblings!
Whole heartedly I can recommend Southwest Fertility and Doctor Vinay Gunnala. Dr Gunnala and the team at Southwest Fertility Center were incredible. The moment we stepped into their office we were greeted with warmth and positivity. We were apprehensive at first due to a poor experience with another fertility clinic in the past ,but Southwest quickly put those fears to rest by providing a detailed step by step program that ultimately led to our little miracle. Dr Gunnala consistently set and explained expectations for every step of the process and was constantly reminding and reassuring that we were doing everything we could. Dr Gunnala and the staff truly made us feel like we were family as we went through each step. The process of IVF is very physically and emotionally tough but they made our journey as comfortable as possible. After a decade of us trying to get pregnant, we had a successful IVF on the first attempt. We plan on going to them again for our next baby. Thank you everyone at southwest fertility
