In the first cycle here, when I was going to do embryo transfer, they called me and told me to transfer one embryo one time, which was agreed in my discussion with the doctor. However, on that day, they asked me to transfer three embryos at one time, then we ended up at transfer two at a time. It of course didn’t succeed. But you can see how they changed their mind.and in Oct we had one remaining embryo transferred and didn’t succeed either. For the second cycle consultation, the doctor even forgot you have already transferred the remaining embryo. What is worse is in the second cycle. The bills they sent to us are unclear but we still paid the debt collectors as they told us. However, after I even purchased expensive medication, they refused me to do the second cycle and asking me to pay bill again. However, the financial department already agreed to accept the debt collectors payment. But they discontinued the process which caused us a lot of cost , no matter financially, mentally and physically. Later on when you are going to do IVF with them, please make sure they won’t discontinue with your service

I felt compelled to write a review as Ive been a client since 2023. I’ve received both IUI and IVF. While unsuccessful, I’m still fighting and ready to start a new IVF cycle. Throughout my time here, all of the staff have been amazing. All of visits have been pleasant, the staff greet you with a smile and they have no clue how even the small gesture of kind words have helped me to keep pushing through on the journey. I am hopeful that I’ll have my little bundle of joy soon! The one thing I wish were better, was more treatment and focus on the men especially when there’s a male factor. It’s so difficult and those specialists are usually all out of pocket!

My experience with Penn Fertility was great. I have my daughter and son because of them so there really is no negative feedback on my end. Treatments and appointments were as expected, as were the fees. Dr. Kalra was fantastic from start to finish as were her staff. I had been to another fertility clinic in the past which i wasn't happy with, so Penn was nice and refreshing.

Started my egg freezing process at Penn Fertility. Everything from billing to scheduling was unnecessarily stressful and time consuming. Scheduling: Penn schedules your egg retrieval protocol based on a surgery date that they have you schedule 2 months out. Any changes in your menstrual cycle in those 2 months will mean that they will have you reschedule to a date that is weeks out. They also require you to be on birth control, so that it will fit into their schedule. Billing: My insurance doesn't cover fertility. My specialist copay is $35, and I don't need a referral to see a specialist. I later found out that I was billed $480 for my first consultation with the Penn Fertility doctor, because they billed it with a DX code of "infertility treatment". This first visit was essentially just a sales pitch from the doctor. After the first visit, they scheduled an ultrasound. I called the billing department and asked if this would be covered under my insurance. They checked and confirmed this would be covered under my insurance. A month later, I get a rejection letter from my insurance for the ultrasound, and Penn billed me $532 for it. Because of all all of the above issues, I stopped my process with Penn, and went with a different clinic. My experience at the other clinic was the total opposite of Penn. They were transparent about what is and isn't covered by insurance, and even had an intake form that required me to call my insurance and find out what DX codes are covered and what isn't. They also made sure that my first visit was billed as a specialist visit. This ensured that my copay was $35 for the first visit. They also didn't require that I pick a surgery date months out. They asked me to call them on day 1 of my period, and in 2 weeks, I had my eggs retrieved. All without the use of birth control. Please do yourself a favor and skip Penn for your egg retrieval. It is an incredibly emotional as well as expensive procedure. Penn has no time to give you the care and attention you need.

I don't think I can find anything negative to say about this facility. My journey was longer than I would have liked and had some bumps in the road, but that's just how to has to go sometimes. I always felt supported by my main Dr. Kalra who always listened to what I had to say and wanted to try first in regards to my care. She was open to my thoughts on my plan of care, which goes a long way. The other doctors in the practice I engaged with often for particular procedures were also lovely, no bad experiences even when the procedure was difficult. I always felt I was always treated with the most love and care. Every office visit was pleasant (considering). The nursing assistants taking blood and vital signs were always kind and tried to make you feel at ease. Helen in particular always had a smile and warm demeanor to her which helped me through. Ashely as well really sticks out in my mind. Ashley was there for a troubling procedure I had done and really did her best to comfort me, going above and beyond her role. The ultrasound ladies were also fabulous. Always answering all the questions they could and being as gentle as possible and entering the room with a smile and postive attitude. Parking was paid, but usually accessible right out front for a very fair fee. Wait times were always fair as well. Office was always clean and bathrooms well kept. Thank you, Penn Fertility!
